Season 5 Episode 20 - Livia

Xena and Gabrielle are still in their ice graves, but one day a rockslide causes some sunlight to get into the cave and melts the ice, waking Xena and Gabrielle up. They leave the mountain cave and soon find out that they have been unconscious and perfectly preserved in their tombs for 25 years. Xena finds out that Rome is as strong as ever and that they are killing the followers of Eli by the hundreds. They have a new leader called Augustus, and a new fierce commander called Livia; she is the Champion of Rome. Xena sees a tavern with a Chakram sign on it she goes in and sees Joxer, who is now much older.

After an emotional reunion Joxer tells her that all those years ago Eve was taken by Octavius after Xena's apparent death and grew up in Rome. Joxer tells her that her horse Argo is dead but before she died she had a daughter Argo the second. Xena tries her out and she is just as good as Argo, with the new horse Joxer, Gabrielle, Xena and Joxer's oldest son Virgil go to Rome to find Eve. When they get there Xena finds out the Octavius is Augusts and has just changed his name, she also finds out that Livia who has been nicknamed "The Bitch of Rome" is really her daughter Eve. She is a vicious killer and a lover of Ares's, who doesn't know she is Xena's daughter. Xena tries to tell Livia that she is her mother by Livia just tries to kill Xena. When Ares finds out that Xena is back it doesn't take him long to realize whom Livia really is, but he doesn't tell the other Gods yet. Xena manages to trick Livia by showing Augustus (who is engaged to her) that Livia is a lover of Ares. Augustus is furious and Livia's hopes of becoming the next ruler of Rome are crushed. Meanwhile Romans have captured Joxer, Gabrielle and Virgil because they are followers of Eli. One of them has to fight Livia and if they loose they all die, if they win they are all set free. Xena turns up in time though and has to fight Livia, Livia tries to kill her again but Xena wins the fight but doesn't kill her daughter. Xena realizes that Eve is no longer her daughter, and she must be stopped!
