Season 5 Episode 18 - Anthony and Cleopatra

When Queen Cleopatra is murdered Xena and Gabrielle are asked to help find the killer. Xena gives Eve to her mother and then Xena and Gabrielle set off to Egypt. It is soon found out that Brutus and Marc Anthony both want to ally with Cleopatra to get her navy to use against each other. Then Marc Anthony receives a gift from Egypt it is a rug with the cryptic message "Will Rome enter Egypt" with it. When Anthony roles out the rug he finds Xena inside wearing nothing but gold chains the first thing Xena says is "I am Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt". Xena pretending to be Cleopatra tells Anthony that she is considering allying with him and invites him back to her palace.

Meanwhile Gabrielle who is already at the palace is greeted by Brutus who is there to warn Cleopatra about an assassination attempt, but Gabrielle knowing that she is already dead tell him she will give her the message. Later that night a man named Octavius comes to see Cleopatra, he finds Xena and presumes she is Cleopatra but before he gets an attempt to talk to he is nearly killed by fire courtesy of Anthony. Anthony tells Xena that Octavius is the adopted son of Caesar and Xena puts him in jail. Gabrielle starts getting worried about Xena's involvement with Anthony but she assures her there is nothing going on, the next day she finds Xena feeding strawberries to Anthony and gets even more worried but lets it drop. That night Xena meets with Anthony and he tells her that he doesn't want her navy he wants her love. Then Brutus's men attack them but Anthony fights them off and proves that he is very vicious and not at all afraid to kill. The following day after talking to Octavius Gabrielle tells Xena that he is not a threat and could be a friend. Xena tries to get Anthony to join Octavius but when he refuses Xena tells him what river Brutus is on and gives him Cleopatra's navy. Later Xena gives Brutus Cleopatra's navy too, but neither side realizes that they both have part of the navy. Gabrielle goes with Brutus and Xena goes with Anthony for the battle. When they start fighting more of Cleopatra's navy attack both ships when Brutus realizes the trick he tries to kill Gabrielle but she kills him first. Xena has to do the same when Anthony realizes on the other ship, although she get upset and hugs Anthony before he dies. When the battle is over Xena reveals who she really is and gives Octavious Cleopatra's navy.
