Season 5 Episode 16 - Lifeblood

Gabrielle and Xena travel to an Amazon village so that Eve can have Gabrielle's ride of caste when they get there they find out that Yakut and Amarice have just died in an attack. While cremating them Xena sees Yakut's spirit who tells Xena to met her in her hut. While Xena goes there Gabrielle and Eve go to a ritual ceremony where Eve is going to be given her ride of Caste, but first Gabrielle has to be told how the Amazons started. Meanwhile Yakut and Xena met each other and Yakut tells Xena that she can not pass over because she has unfinished business and tells Xena it has something to do with the past. Yakut tells Xena the same story Gabrielle is being told and it goes like this.

Many years ago a woman called Samsara and her followers use the Utma Dagger to summon a woman from the future this women was called Cyane. She was prophesized to lead them into a new way of living Cyane taught them how to ride horses and was very brave. But Samsara didn't trust her and they had a race to prove their power things got very competitive and they both fall off a cliff. Cyane was rescued by a cannibal man, but he was very nice and not really a typical cannibal. When Samsara finds her Samsara and the cannibal fight because one of the cannibals killed Samsara's father. In the end Cyane is captured by the cannibals but Samsara managed to free her. Then the cannibals and Samsara, Cyane and her followers fight. Samsar, Cyane and their followers win but Samsar rides off because she wants nothing more to do with them. The man who helped Cyane earlier decides to start a good tribe while Cyane and the remaining followers create the first ever Amazon tribe. Back in the present day the Amazons are still looking for revenge against the people who killed Yakut and Amarice but Gabrielle and Xena explain that they should because if the do Yakut will be trapped forever they decide not to and Yakut passes over knowing that know one will be killed because of her. Eve is then given Gabrielle's rite of caste and the Amazon tribe plan to change their ways to make them less bloodthirsty.
