Season 5 Episode 09 - Seeds of Faith

Eli has created a rebel group of people who want to fight the gods, but Eli and his followers aren't going to use violence they are going to use peace. Instead of fighting they are going to have no fear of the gods, ignore there commands and they no longer have power over you. When Xena and Gabrielle find out about this they decide to help and soon find out that Ares's is afraid of Eli's threats and he may begin the twilight of the Gods, a time when no Gods will rule mortals. Xena goes off to fight some of Ares's invading army while Gabrielle stays with Eli. Then Ares pays Eli a visit and tells him that he has one last chance to stop his attack or else he will be killed. Eli doesn't stop and when Ares comes next time he tries to kill Eli but Gabrielle stops him. Eli begs Gabrielle not to stop him because it means fighting. Gabrielle listen to Eli and then Ares murders Eli. When Xena finds out she is furious at Gabrielle for letting Eli die, and Gabrielle hates herself for it. Later Xena goes to get a dagger, which can kill gods while Gabrielle is approached by Ares who asks her to join him. Gabrielle refuses and fights him. Meanwhile Xena, who has now got the dagger, has been asked by Callisto to not kill Ares because Eli wouldn't have wanted it. When Xena gets back to Gabrielle she sees the fighting and takes over but chooses not to kill Ares because of Eli. Ares leaves and because of Xena's faithfulness Eli and Callisto pay a visit to Xena and Gabrielle. Eli thanks both Xena and Gabrielle for there faith in him and one another. Then Callisto tells Xena that she and Xena have both taken precious things from each other in the past and it is time to make things straight. Callisto then tells Xena that it is her time to be reborn and says that she can think of no better mother then Xena and she puts her soul into Xena's unborn child, it was her who gave Xena the child so that they could both give back what they once took from each other.
