Season 5 Episode 06 - Purity

A man from Chin delivers Xena a message saying, "The Hawk and the Dove must be made one with the wisdom". It is from Lao Ma's book of wisdom so Xena, Gabrielle and Joxer travel to Chin to try and find out what the message is about. When they get there they see what is left from a vicious battle as they walk though it the battle starts up again. Lots of people start fighting and bombs are sent right into the middle of the battle from a great distance. Xena, Gabrielle and Joxer fight to and are helped by a woman. When the fight is over Xena thanks her for her help and the women tells them that she is the daughter of Lao Ma, her name is Pao Ssu. She tells Xena that the rockets fired had "black powder" in them (AKA gun powder). They all go to get Lao Ma's book of Wisdom because it can teach anyone how to have the power the Lao Ma had but it is missing. Xena and Pao Ssu go to find the Book while Gabrielle and Joxer go to find the ingredients of Black Powder. When they find the book Xena finds out that the person with the book is called K'ao Hsin and is another daughter of Lao Ma's. But on finding the book Pao Ssu shows her true colours and fights to get it. Xena manages to get it and Pao Ssu runs off. K'ao Hsin explains to Xena that Pao ssu is the evil one and that she has been trying to conquer Chin. Later Pao Ssu attacks and gets the book off of them. Together Xena and K'ao Hsin manage to get the power back anyway and by now Gabrielle and Joxer have worked out how to make black powder, it took so long because they were put in prison because it is illegal to make and when trying to get the ingredients Joxer accidently told someone what they were doing, so then they had to break out of jail. They all go in to battle and Gabrielle and Joxer fight and use the black powder while Xena and K'ao Hsin use the power they obtained and beat Pao Ssu. K'ao Hsin and Xena win and Pau Ssu's army retreat. Xena plans to leave Chin soon and K'ao Hsin is going to rule fairly just like her mother.
