Season 5 Episode 5 - Them Bones, Them Bones

Xena starts to get a lot of pain from her baby and is rushed to the nearest doctors. When she gets there the pain increases and then a skeleton rips open her stomach from the inside and puts its head out of her stomach. Then Xena wakes up and finds out that she was in so much pain that she was given a sedative so she could get to sleep and the skeleton was a dream. But Xena is convinced that it was no dream and believes that someone is trying to kill her unborn baby. Xena, Gabrielle and Amarice travel to Yakut's Amazon tribe because Xena believe that she is the only one who can help. They soon find out that the person trying to kill her child is Alti she is attacking from the spiritual realm. The only way that Alti will stop is that if someone beats her in the spiritual realm, but Xena wont be able to win because of her condition so Gabrielle does it instead. She performs a ceremony and travels to the spiritual realm. When she gets there Alti is waiting and Alti and Gabrielle fight. Alti's powers are so strong that she beats Gabrielle and almost kills her but Gabrielle manages to leave and return to the physical realm just in time. While there she finds out the Alti doesn't want to hurt Xena's baby she wants to use it to be reincarnated into the physical realm. Xena thinks of a plan to stop Alti by trapping her soul, Gabrielle and Amarice go to get the ingredient for the ritual from a tree, which is guarded by an Amazon Mystic. In the meantime Yakut and Xena find Alti's remains so that they can carry out the ritual. Xena finds out a truth that Yakut has been hiding, it is her fault Alti is hurting Xena's child because she accidentally released Alti's spirit. Xena gets annoyed with her but sticks to the plan anyhow. That night Yakut goes to the spiritual realm to beat Alti because she fells so guilty, when Xena finds out she goes in after her but isn't strong enough to beat Alti and Alti steals her child's soul. Alti agrees to give it back only if Xena and the Amazons find a way to transport Alti into the physical world. Meanwhile Gabrielle and Amarice have got the place where the ingredient is, but a secret is found out by Gabrielle about Amarice. The Amazon guarding the ingredient tells Gabrielle that Amarice isn't actually an Amazon, Amarice gets very ashamed but stills helps Xena and Gabrielle. They return and find out what has happened and so the plan has changed Xena is going to bring Alti back so that she can get her baby's soul back. The Amazons and Xena perform a ritual and Alti is brought back, but she doesn't give Xena her baby's soul, but thing aren't quite want they seem. Xena has tricked Alti and has not really brought her back to the physical realm just somewhere else in the spiritual realm. Xena sheds her skin and they fight, but this time Xena wins and gets back her baby's soul. She is then brought back to the physical realm by the Amazons and Alti has finally been defeated. Just before they leave Yakut and her tribe, Gabrielle makes Amarice into an Amazon and Amarice explains that she wants to stay with Yakut and her tribe and learn more about them.
