Season 4 Episode 15 - Between the Lines

Xena and Gabrielle save a woman called Naiyima from being killed, they take Naiyima to safety, but then Naiyima starts to perform a strange ritual and Xena is taken in to her future reincarnated body. Xena is in the body of Amenestra, the Mother of Peace and is trying to talk peace with an evil woman, when the woman touches her she sees it is Alti. A warrior called Shalti comes in and rescues Xena but is hurt while doing so. Then Gabrielle is back again in normal Xena body and Naiyima is telling Gabrielle that hers and Xena's souls are always intertwined and teaches Gabrielle the Mehndi which is the ritual she used to put Xena into her future body. Once Gabrielle has learnt it Naiyima tells her that she must use it to bring Xena back to this normal time as it is the only place where can defeat Alti.

Now we are back with Xena who is trying to treat the Shalti's wound. Xena starts to talk to him when a strange confused expression appears on his face he touches Xena and Xena realises that Gabrielle is now in the body of Shalti. Xena and Gabrielle see Alti again and while Xena is trying to talk peace with her Gabrielle starts to lead Shalti's army into an attack. It doesn't work and they get captured and thrown into Alti's dungeon. Gabrielle starts to use the Mehndi and when Alti comes in to the cell she transports herself Xena and Alti back into normal time. There Xena and Alti start to fight but Alti is hard to defeat as she keeps using the power that gives you the pains of the past she used in Sins of the Past Trade. Eventually Alti uses the memory of Xena crucifixion in Destiny and breaks Xena's legs. The Gabrielle starts to fight Alti, but doesn't do very well. Alti picks Gabrielle up by the hair and starts to show Gabrielle her future crucifixion with Xena and Gabrielle is just about to die when….Xena throws her Chakram cutting Gabrielle's hair so she falls to the ground. Xena is now mad and makes a chakram using the Mehndi and kills Alti. The fight is now over and Naiyima disappears. Gabrielle, now with short nicely styled hair talks to Xena about the future and Xena comes up with a symbol so know matter who body they are in and want life they are leading they will always know if they are talking to their soul mate.
