Season 3 Episode 12 - The Bitter Suite

Xena and Gabrielle are both filled with sadness from their children's death. Gabrielle goes back to the amazons and seeks purification while Xena is persuaded by Ares to go back and kill Gabrielle. When she gets to the Amazon village she brakes Ephiny' s arm and hurts a lot of the amazons then she knocks Joxer out and ties Gabrielle to the back of her horse and rides throw rocks and stones, when she has finished Gabrielle is unconscious and nearly dead she picks her up and tries to throw her of a cliff but Gabrielle wakes up and stops her. Then Gabrielle pushes Xena of the cliff and she fall with her. The two friends float in the water below and Xena is saved by the Illusian version of Callisto, and Gabrielle is saved by an Illusian version of Joxer.

Callisto explains that Xena and Gabrielle are now in Illusian and as Callisto explains it "Illusia is music, a world built on rhyme" While there Xena goes to an illusion version of Ares who makes her fight, while Gabrielle goes back to her home village of Poteidaia and meets the Illusion version of her sister Lila. Who tells Gabrielle to kill Xena as she puts it "It's just a case of killing to be kind" Gabrielle and Xena have a great fight and Xena wins and kills Gabrielle, after more singing and dance by Ares, Gabrielle comes into the room and Xena realises it was just an Illusion of Gabrielle she killed. Gabrielle and Xena go throw a strange journey threw Illusia together telling each other all the pain they have been threw. After fighting their hatred Gabrielle and Xena become friends again, but then it comes out that Xena killed Ming Tien (see the Debt I &II) so she tells Gabrielle how sorry she is and all is forgiven. Xena and Gabrielle then see Solan and realise that it was him who set the whole thing up to get to great friends back together. When they leave Illusia Gabrielle and Xena end up on a beach and the two people are again great, great friends.
