Season 7 Episode 20 - Inauguration

President Henry Hayes takes office and General Maynard of the Joint Chiefs of Staff brings him up to date on the Stargate project. He confronts his vice president, former Senator Kinsey, who wants the place put under new management via the NID. Maynard supports the SGC and warns the President that Kinsey wants personal control of the project. Kisney calls in Agent Woolsey to sway the President and clean house at SGC, relating various incidents of insubordination and disobedience.

After finishing his report, Woolsey confronts Kinsey, who is confident the President is going to side with him and if he doesn't, "things happen." Maynard meets with the President privately, warning that Anubis is preparing a major assault on Earth once he deals with his System Lord rivals. They need SG-1 to locate the Lost City, but the President warns him the SGC may have too many enemies.

Woolsey goes behind Kinsey's back to meet with Maynard, and believes the NID may be playing him to bring down the SGC. Maynard tells Woolsey to get the proof he needs, and he goes to Hammond. Woolsey suspects that Kinsey was initially targeted by the rogue NID but later became valuable to them and is working for them. A skeptical Hammond still gives Woolsey the data from Kinsey's computer (from Chain Reaction) and Woolsey turns the information over to the President. Both the President and Woolsey are left to wonder what the true motives of the rogue NID are, and what Kinsey offered them to get his assassination contract cancelled.
