Season 2 Episode 09 - Secrets

It's been one year and on Abydos, Kasuf has unburied the Stargate. With Sam and Jack having to go to Washington to receive medals, Teal'c and Daniel go through and Daniel tells Kasuf he has faield to recover his daughter Sha're. Kasuf reveals that Sha're is on the planet – she reveals that she is on the planet because the Goa'uld within her is asleep while she is . . . pregnant with Apophis' child. Apophis hid her on Abydos since birthing a child with a fellow Goa'uld is forbidden.

In Washington, Sam and Jack meet Sam's father, General Jacob Carter. Jacob is suspicious of Sam's cover story of working in "deep space telemetry" and wants to help her work for NASA, but Sam is forced to decline. Later Jack meets with a reporter, Selig, who reveals he knows about the Stargate and apparently has an inside source. Jack denies everything and departs,

Teal'c suggests they take Sha're back as she has access to the genetic memories of the Goa'uld. Daniel and Sha're eventually agree but before they can depart a System arrives and Amaunet starts to resurface, triggering the birth prematurely. They retreat back to the camp and Teal'c reveals that it is Heru'ur, not Apophis, who has arrived, seeking the Apophis' child. Heru'ur prepares to ambush Apophis when he comes for his child. Teal'c sneaks in and rescues Kasuf from interrogation, then dresses as Heru'ur's Horus Guard takes the baby from Amaunet after she gives birth and retakes control of Sha're's body. Teal'c then stuns Amaunet and he and Daniel hide the baby and tell Heru'ur that Apophis escaped with the child.

Jack tries to convince Selig to drop the story, but no luck. But as he leaves Selig is hit by a car – an apparent "accident" Jacob reveals he is dying of cancer and that he had hoped Sam would become an astronaut and fulfill his dream – she is forced to deny him without explaining why. Jack and Sam receive their medals at a private ceremony when the President is unable to reschedule.

Jack and Sam arrive just as Teal'c and Daniel take on Heru'ur's guards – with their intervention they take out Heru'ur but he escapes. Apophis then arrives and takes Amaunet with him, even though Amaunet sees them in hiding – they're left to wonder if it was Sha're's intervention that kept her silent.
